Engage Your Golfers All Year Round
Unfortunately, not everyone gets to enjoy the luxury of a twelve-month golfing season. Many of us have to trade in our golf clubs for ski poles and make the best out of the snow and ice.
Whether your traffic just slows a bit or you close completely during the winter, it’s important to stay connected to your golfers all year round. This strategy will ensure your peak season will be as profitable as possible.
We’ve crafted a few methods and messages you can use to keep your golfers engaged and hungry for that first day back on the tee box.
You likely send promotional emails during your “high” season, but email should still play an important role during your slow periods. In your off-season, regularly scheduled emails will keep your facility top-of-mind among your golfers, and if there’s an occasional nice day when your course is open, you can leverage this access to drive some unexpected revenue.
As with all emails, relevant content makes all the difference in the world. See the “Messages” section below for ideas to keep your emails engaging and interesting for your audience.
It’s no secret that social media is the best way to distribute content and spread a message quickly. Make sure your social profiles are up to date so your golfers can easily locate you and your content. If you haven’t had an opportunity to update your profile or refresh its content, now is the time.
Put your own spin on what’s going on in the world of golf: results from the PGA TOUR or European tours, anecdotes from junior tours or qualifying tournaments, instructional tips, or any other type of local or national update will help to feed the appetite of your golfers even if they can’t get out to play a round.
Keep your golfers up to date on the upgrades and improvements you’re making during the off-season: New chairs in the restaurant? New layout in the proshop? Re-sodded green on #11? Your customers will appreciate the investment you’re making, and will get them excited to come back and see the changes.
