As the oldest of the four majors it has history and interesting facts that we bet you didn’t know…
- The first Open was played at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland, and only eight (yes eight!) men participated.
- The oldest winner was “Old” Tom Morris Sr. at 46 years.
- The youngest winner was Tom’s son “Young” Tom Morris Jr. at 17 years.
